Registration Questions and Answers
What are the age requirements for Bright Beginnings?
Children enrolling in our program MUST be at least 2 years, 7 months old on the first day of school. Children who do not meet this requirement must wait until they are 2.7 months old to officially enroll and attend the program, provided we have spaces available. This is in alignment with the Department of Human Services and Department of Education regulations for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. We close all enrollment and accept the last students in January of each school year.
What days of the week do you offer Bright Beginnings?
Monday through Friday. All classes begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 12:00 noon.
How many days can I sign up for?
You can choose from our 2-day options (Tues/Thurs OR Wed/Fri) or from our 3-day options (Mon/Tues/Thurs OR Mon/Wed/Fri). These class options are set and the curriculum is designed to accommodate those class options.
Can I request a certain teacher or classroom?
We do not encourage special requests – the program is the same regardless of teacher or room. Special requests are considered but not guaranteed.
Can I request for my child to be put in the same class as her friend?
Again, special requests are considered but not guaranteed. A classmate request needs to appear on both children’s forms in order to be considered.
What is the cost for Bright Beginnings?
The tuition is $150 per month for the 2-day class and $175 per month for the 3-day class. Tuition is collected monthly. Tuition is due at the beginning of each month. Credit is not given for days missed due to illness or other absence. There is a $50 nonrefundable enrollment fee in addition to a one-time $40 materials fee which is used towards the purchase of craft materials.
Is there a penalty if I decide not to have my child attend Bright Beginnings after I register him/her?
No there is not a penalty; however, the $50 registration fee is non-refundable.
What form of payment do you accept for the registration fee?
You may pay with cash or check. Checks should be made payable to Asbury UMC. You may also set up an autopay plan through the Church office.
When can I register?
Registration is open beginning in January, 2018.
How do I register?
Registration forms will be accepted at the Resource Center (upstairs near by the elevator) beginning Monday, January 8th from 8:30 - 9:30, brought in person to Asbury or mailed. At this time registration forms cannot be submitted online. Mailed forms should be sent to:

How will I be notified of the status of my registration?
An email will be sent to you confirming your spot in the program. In the case where an email address is not provided a confirmation will be mailed to your home. Please add the Bright Beginnings email address to your address book so that the email does not go to “junk”. email@example.com and BowermasterK@gmail.com.
When will I find out my room/teacher assignment?
You will not find out your room/teacher assignment until August. Waiting until August to make final room assignments ensures the best mix of children in each class. (i.e.: boy-girl ratio)
When will classes start?
Bright Beginnings classes begin the 2nd Monday in September with an orientation for parents only followed by a Meet and Greet the teachers for parents and children.
What happens next?
You will receive an email in mid-August with your child’s room and teacher assignment. There will also be information about our Parent Orientation and Meet and Greet the Teachers which will be held the first week of September. The Meet and Greet is an informal time for you and your child to come see the classroom, meet the teachers and get to know some of their classmates prior to the first day of school.
When is my first tuition check due?
Your first tuition check is due in September after school begins.
My child has a well-visit coming up over the summer. Is there a form my pediatrician needs to complete?
